Hello Friends!

This is the final installment of the “Sparrows” sew along. Have you been keeping up? Are you enjoying the process? Have you started? Or is the pattern in the “to-do-someday” pile? No matter where you are, I hope this will give you some inspiration. Maggie has recently finished her quilt; and it is wonderful! Come by the shop to see this sweetie in person!!

Mary’s Quilting

Quilting and binding are the last steps to making our “Sparrows” quilts.  This quilt lends itself to doing all kinds of designs. Mary quilted hers using horizontal free motion design that looks like wind.I did a swirly loopy design that just seemed to be fun and easy to do.

We are both always trying to up our game quilting on our domestic machines. If you are lucky enough to have something bigger than a trusty domestic machine, you have even more options available to you. Maggie made some beautiful big pebbles in her sashing and a perfectly sized wreath for the bird bellies.

Whatever you decide to do, I am convinced that there is no way to make a bad decision with your quilting. No matter what you do, this will be an adorable quilt to brighten and cheer any bed! (Or wall, or sofa, or playroom).

Thank you for letting us fly along on this journey with you. I will look forward to seeing some finished “Sparrows” come fluttering into the shop or our inbox!
