Hello Friends!
The Letter G newsletter is a Great place to launch our next Quilt-Along! Geez, it’s been a while, right?! We are
excited to announce that the next quilt we’d like to make along with you is called “Luminous” and it is written by our talented, local friend, Kate from Kate Colleran Designs!
For those of you who say “Look at all those half-square triangles! No Way! Look at all those flying geese! Not for me!” Let me counter with, “look at those beautiful HST and flying geese!” Kate’s pattern is the perfect way to hone your skills and maybe learn a new way of putting these tricky blocks together. She makes a hard-looking quilt easy to sew and because the pattern is a block of the month, it is manageable and easy to not get overwhelmed.
I know that for me, personally, I really like cruising along in my comfort zone. It is so, so good for us to get out of that rut and try something new. I sewed with batiks (which have not always been a favorite) and I definitely used a pallet that is not my norm (so much orange!) I am so proud of myself for trying something new and I am really pleased with the result. Challenge yourself! If not now, when? Now is the time to do it!
