Hello Friends!

Every now and then we here at the shop get really excited about something we’ve seen and we all just fall in love. “Sparrows”  (a new pattern from Pen & Paper Patterns) is one of those patterns.  If you haven’t been in the store recently and seen some of our samples, check out these pictures:

We all love it so much we want to share the love with you all. We are going to do another QAL (because it is more fun to quilt-along than to quilt-alone!)

Rachael’s Sparrows

Mary’s “Kissing” Sparrows

Summer seems like the perfect time to stay out of the heat and work on these sweet birds. The blocks are big so you can make a large quilt in a hurry.

Or you can make just a few blocks and make a small quilt:

How cute is this small quilt Rachael did in homespuns?!

Or you can be like Mary and make mini sparrows:

Step one in the QAL: get yourself a pattern RIGHT HERE! and choose some fabric.  This pattern looks great in solids and Cherrywood Hand Dyed Fabrics would be a wonderful choice. But all different kinds of fabrics work really well.

We will have some tips for cutting and organizing your fabrics in our next newsletter, so you’ve got plenty of time to choose what you need!

This QAL we will be adding some help sessions in case you need or want a little extra support. The first one will be Sunday, August 1st at 10 am,  and I will be there to answer questions, trouble shoot, or cheer you along! No charge for the QAL Meet up – but RSVP, so we’ll know how many to expect!!
