Freezer Paper Pieced Feathered Star with Doris DeGenova
May 1 @ 10:00 am - 4:00 pm
Take it easy and learn to make a 12″ or 22″ Feathered Star Block, using the quick and accurate freezer-paper-pieced method.
Doris will provide the pattern sheet for either size FS you choose. You may purchase Freezer Paper to be used in your printer at Wooden Spools. It is excellent for this project and many other quilt and craft projects.
The instructions for making the block are the same for both sizes.
Your finished Feathered Star block can be used in many quilt projects. For instance, as a center for a Medallion style quilt or a square table topper.
In class, you will learn how to use Freezer Paper – as a foundation, which is similar to paper piecing, without the tearing!
Previous experience with rotary cutting and basic piecing is required. No previous paper or foundation* piecing is necessary.
Paper-Piecing and Foundation piecing are basically the same. A ‘foundation’ is a typically muslin which is not removed from the block; a paper foundation (i.e., paper-piecing) is the same sewing method, but the paper is torn away from the block.
Join us for this terrific skill-building class! You’ll learn a alot and have a ton of fun, too!
