Blog for the week of December 18, 2016
Here’s the scoop and how you can participate:
Go to Wooden Spools in person or on line and sign up for the Follow Along. It will cost you $10 to start. There are two ways you can participate.
Option #1. If you live in town and can make it to Wooden Spools every month you will come to the shop on the last Saturday of the month for 6 months. At the first gathering you will receive yardage lists for the entire project and instructions to make the center medallion block. It is the Log Cabin surrounded by Flying Geese.
You can make this “block” and wait for next month for the 2nd round of instructions. The following month if you bring back your center block completed you will receive the next instruction for free. If you are unable to complete your block you can still come back and receive the next month’s instructions for just $5. Each month will be handled the same – bring your latest “round” completed and get the next month’s instructions for free.
Even more exciting is that each month there will also be instructions that you receive for making a small quilt out of just that month’s border blocks. If you don’t want to make the large Medallion quilt, you can make the small quilts each month and still get the next pattern for free.
Option #2. To make this even more exciting – here is the good news. If you live out of town or can’t come in on the last Saturday of the month, you can sign up with your email and after you pay the first $10, you will receive the first pattern by email. It will arrive Saturday afternoon after our In-Store class has met. Then each following month all you must do is email a picture of your project showing that you have added each round every month (or make the small quilt and send a picture) and the next month’s instructions will be emailed to you. We must receive your email by 10 am on Saturday with the photo and your name, to qualify for you to receive the next pattern for free. If you want to purchase any pattern, it can be done after 10 am on the first Saturday for $5.
More good news – We will make up a few kits for each month’s small quilt and they will be for sale. Wooden Spools will be giving away a kit and pattern each month for the Little Quilt of the Month! All you have to do is be present with your completed previous month’s project to have a chance to win the kit.
I am so excited to share this project with you and to watch you create your own Memories of Colorado with the Log Cabin Medallion Quilt. I hope we have fun together.
