Well. Things have gotten a little wild since the last hat announcement, huh? I considered just skipping the April hats, but honestly, we need projects, AND these are two of my favorite of all of the hat patterns. đ These two hats are colorwork hats (donât worryâtheyâre not too difficult), so you can learn or practice the skill of colorwork.Â
April is coming, and what does April bring (hopefullyâŠ)? SHOWERS!
The knit hat pattern is:
Rain, Rain, Go Away by Laura Reinbach. This free pattern is a fun and fairly quick knit that features raindrops and umbrellas!! How cute, and perfect to wear on the cool, rainy April days!
The crochet hat pattern is:
Bobbletone Hat by Nikolett Corley Designs. This $4.99 pattern has a solid background color and a fun variegated contrast color for the bobbles. This hat was very fun to crochet and is an adorable way to play with color!!
Suggested Yarns for both hats:
Juniper Moon Farm âMoonshineâ Worsted weight, single ply yarn in wool, alpaca, and silk and some great solid colors
AND
Malabrigo âRiosâ Worsted weight, plied yarn in 100% Superwash Merino in variegated colors
These yarns are luscious and work beautifully together. Youâll have some left over from either hat. Maybe you can make an opposite color hat?
As for the March hats, I hope youâve had some time to finish them!! đ You still have through March 31 to post photos of your finished hat to be entered in the drawing for yarn for the April hat! Since you canât bring your hat in, show us youâre finished in one of 3 ways:
-Post a photo of your finished hat in the Facebook group â12 Hats of 2020 Members.â Find that group on our Facebook page.Â
-Post a photo of your finished hat on Instagram with the â#WS12hatsof2020â in the comments.
-Email us a photo at info@woodenspools.com
HAPPY KNITTING AND CROCHETING!!
