Just added: Beginning (Basic) Machine Quilting: Ann Petersen

Ann has agreed to teach one more basic machine quilting class this year…. Thursday, 13th 10 am to 4 pm!

BEGINNING (OR BASIC) MACHINE QUILTING

with Ann Petersen, who joined Wooden Spools as an instructor after teaching for 15 years at the now-closed Great American Quilt Factory. Welcome Ann!

During this 6 hour class you will learn machine quilting your tops from the very beginning! Brand new quilters and those who just want to brush up on their skills are welcome in this class. We will cover stitching in the ditch, methods for basting, marking, threads and batting. Most of the time will be spent practicing free-motion quilting – both following lines and without marking.

NEW: The Language of Color and Design: Heather Thomas

SCHEDULE CHANGE: NOW BEING OFFERED on Monday morning (4th Monday of each month): What better way to start the week than with this exploration into color and creativity with Heather?

Whether you are a traditional quilter or a contemporary mixed media artist, harnessing the power of color and the dexterity of design will improve what you create and make the process more enjoyable. For those of you who are ready to step out and delve deep into your creativity, this class can be a life/art changing experience. This class includes in depth study of classic color and design theory using a “show & tell” model. Each month, I will introduce a new concept with lots of samples, then class members will spend a month exploring the new lesson and bring their projects the following month for group discussion. For anyone who is dedicated to becoming more creative regardless of medium or skill level.

The 4th Monday of every month for 13 months – Beginning September 26th, 2011
