THE MISSING FLOWER TOPS : THE MIDNIGHT SNACK
The Missing Flower Tops and The Midnight Snack is a two-sided book which is a mystery about flower tops that disappear. Who (or what) is stealing the flower tops? It is an innovative, quintessential hard cover quilter’s book as well. Every page is delightfully illustrated with the texture and stitching of the fabric of an actual quilt. This is a treasure for all lovers of quilts and quilting!
This wonderful two-sided storybook is for quilters and their children (and grandchildren). Your child will see the texture of the fabrics come to life with closeup photos of their favorite animals. Some silly things happen to our animal friends along the way. Whether your child is able to read alone or not, these stories will be enjoyed over and over.
Joan Musick will be at Wooden Spools all day Saturday, February 11th, for book signings. She’ll have her quilt that tells the story on hand as well! Don’t miss this fun opportunity to meet the author and pick up a great Valentine’s gift for that sweet child or grandchild!

Ann has agreed to teach one more basic machine quilting class this year…. Thursday, 13th 10 am to 4 pm!
BEGINNING (OR BASIC) MACHINE QUILTING
with Ann Petersen, who joined Wooden Spools as an instructor after teaching for 15 years at the now-closed Great American Quilt Factory. Welcome Ann!
During this 6 hour class you will learn machine quilting your tops from the very beginning! Brand new quilters and those who just want to brush up on their skills are welcome in this class. We will cover stitching in the ditch, methods for basting, marking, threads and batting. Most of the time will be spent practicing free-motion quilting – both following lines and without marking.

Knit “The Great American Afghan” one month at a time…..
Learn a new block each month, from Knitter’s Magazine’s “The Great American Afghan”. Each block is a showcase of textures and techniques that will teach new stitches and how to knit from a chart. After 12 months you’ll have enough blocks to stitch together into an heirloom afghan! GREAT CLASS FOR NEW KNITTERS!
